In partnership with England Football Learning
We have now delivered two webinars with a focus on grassroots football, in partnership with England Football Learning. Both are now available to view on our coach-education platform, CV Academy, and will count towards coaches’ CPD points – one FA CPD hour for viewing each webinar as long as you have submitted your FA Number within your account.
Please see below for details on each webinar – if you haven't seen either or both already, we would certainly recommend giving them a watch!
Webinar 1: The Benefits of Small-sided Games
In a fascinating hour-long session, FA Youth Coach Developer and Futsal Lead Ian Parkes and National Coach Development Lead for Women & Girls Bex Garlick (both below) presented on the benefits of small-sided games.
Both introduced example small-sided games they would use in their own coaching – one with an attacking focus and one concentrating on defence – before then discussing the value of such practices to both the players and the coaches delivering them. They then answered a selection of questions put to them by members of the live and incredibly captive audience.
Webinar 2: Creating a Positive Matchday Environment
In a hugely engaging and informative hour-long session, FA Physical Education Officer Vinny Halsall and FA Coach Development Officer (Diversity & Inclusion) Danny Fenner (both below) spoke about creating the best possible matchday environment for young players, their parents, spectators, the officials and the coaches themselves.
They explored how transformational coaching behaviours before, during and after a game can enable children to have a brilliant experience and enjoy what should still be the magic of matchday. Finally, they responded to a selection of the many questions posed by an engaged live audience.
We hope you enjoy both webinars as much as we did!
